Menganti Beach, A Beautiful Coastal at Kebumen

As part of the hometown trip, my family and I went on a road trip to Yogyakarta. Unlike what we usually did, we took the southern coastal route of Java Island. We did the similar trip years ago, but now the roads along the way have been so much better where you don’t have to go through the uncomfortable bumpy roads. We dropped by a few interesting stops, in which, one of them is this beautiful beach in Kebumen, Central Java called as Menganti Beach.

Menganti Beach is one of the most popular beach located in Kebumen, Central Java. This beach is part of the beautiful coastal area of Indonesia with white sands, hills, and cliffs which shapes its own charm. ‘Menganti’ itself is a Javanese word, meaning ‘the waiting.’

The road to reach this Menganti Beach isn’t so easy as it is located just beside cliff with the road that is still rough and bumpy. The moment you arrived, you would be able to see the stony beach as combined with white sands and the view of the hills. As you walked further, you would also be able to go up to the hills and get a different view of the sea from the top.

From the top of the hill, we walked down again through a stony stairs to a red bridge facing through the oceans. I love this area the most as you would be able to see a limitless ocean view with the strong waves. My Mom’s legs condition weren’t really great, but as you can see she smiled and looked so happy there that I was also surprised she was able to walk up and down on this beach area.

We had a quick lunch there by eating ‘bakso’ or the meatballs soup which is one of the most popular traditional delicacy in Indonesia. After that, we continued our road trip to Yogyakarta.
