Have you every heard people complaining on social media on how bad the traffic in Jakarta is, every long weekend? Especially those routes to other neighbor cities surrounding Jakarta, like Bandung, Bogor, or Puncak. Well, those people are maybe just like me, who sometimes got sick spending long weekend in Jakarta. In which, what you can do is literally just going to the malls, watching movies, eating out, etc. Sooo boring! It was just one of those week, which I felt like going somewhere to spend the long weekend outside Jakarta. My friends and I decided to have a short weekend getaway in Puncak, Bogor. Sounds common? Well, yes indeed. But actually, it’s still better than going to the malls, isn’t it? There are several things you can do for weekend getaway there.
1. Zoo-cation at Taman Safari Indonesia
It is not a bad idea at all, reminiscing your childhood trips of going to the zoo. Taman Safari Indonesia, which is located at Cisarua, Puncak, West Java is one of the great place you can visit. You can go see the animals in (as if) in the wild by your own car, or by bus provided by them. Fun, fun, fun!
2. Stay-cation at R Hotel, Rancamaya
Didn’t want to stuck on traffic to go back to Jakarta immediately? You don’t need to rush. Stay for one-night at R Hotel, Rancamaya might be a great option. This is one of my favorite hotel in Puncak, Bogor, West Java. The hotel is quite new and there are so many fun activities that you can do there. Starting from swimming, going to sauna or Jacuzzi in the hotel’s club house, bicycling, feeding the fishes or deer in the park, playing golf or just driving, etc. Everything is included in the hotel service with no additional cost. Sounds pretty interesting, huh? However, I suggest you to book at least two weeks in advance if you already planned to have a staycation there in one of the weekend. This is because the rooms usually are fully booked during long weekends.
3. Culinary Hopping at Bogor
What is weekend without foods? What is Bogor without its culinary stalls? You may want to visit Jalan Suryakencana in Bogor city which has so many options of culinary delicacies that you might want to try. My favorite is Soto Mie Sukabumi Agih and of course, the one and only, Ngo Hiang Asli Gg. Aut which are located just next to each other. This is perfect since you don’t need to move your parked car hehehe.
4. Chilling Time at Monarchy Bistro, Bogor
You don’t need to worry on what things to do at night because Bogor also has so many chilling cafes to hang around. You just need to google up or go to Zomato to find what are the best recommended ones. As for me, I really like the atmosphere of Monarchy Bistro. I always tried to spend some time visiting this cool place when I visit Bogor at night.
So, you’re ready to plan for the next weekend? 🙂
