The True Beach-Life at Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan has officially been my favorite holiday destination. Gili means ‘small island’ in Sasak language, traditional language used by the people of Lombok. Lombok itself, has 3 ‘gilis’ or small islands which are located in the Northwest of the main island. Along with its sisters islands, Gili Meno and Gili Air, Gili Trawangan Island has been one of the most attractive destination for tourists to have a laid-back and relaxed holiday. This small island really has many to offers. Bored is only a word when you are there!

Beach Hopping at Lombok

I don’t mind having too much blue in my feed. After one full week enjoying the solitary work-leisure activities in West Sumbawa, I extended my trip to the infamous Lombok. Lombok which in local language means ‘chili is located at West Nusa Tenggara province and often being called as the ‘unspoiled’ Bali. It has one of the most beautiful beach-list in Indonesia with its emerald blue sea, white sands, and crystal clear sea. You can do beach hopping all day and seeing some of the buffalo troops by the sea which is not a weird view in Lombok. This is one of the place I would love to always go back!

Derawan Islands, the Gem of Borneo

People might crave for sea vitamins once in a while. After my last trip to Belitung, I had never been to any other beach or sea. It made me say “yes” right away, when my cousins asked me to join an open trip to Derawan Islands at the end of 2016. People said, the more you go to the eastern part of Indonesia, the more beautiful beaches you could find. Derawan Islands is located at Berau, the province of East Kalimantan. Celebes Sea or Sulawesi sea spread across the area, and yes, it is indeed beautiful. The uniqueness of this Derawan trip is that you got to visit each islands which offers different views, different charms, and different activities that you can do there. Eager to know more what’s in the Maldives of Indonesia? It’s gonna be a long post, but stay tune!

A Homey Seattle

“So, where will you go next after here and Orlando?” A shopkeeper at Georgetown, Washington DC, asked me after we talked about the (my) trip there to US. Remember when I said that almost all of the shopkeepers in Georgetown were ultimately friendly?

“Not much. I’ll go to Seattle after the Orlando trip,” I said, putting back the bag I just looked around back to the display rack.

“Oh, wow! You’re going to west coast?” He widened his eyes. I looked at him, a bit surprised and confused seeing his excessive response. “That is totally awesome! People said west coast, especially Seattle is really nice. I, myself, have never got the chance to be there. It’s too far away from here,” he continued.

This time, I widened my eyes. Felt a bit surprised again as I thought that most of Americans must have been going to visit almost every states of their country. At least, Seattle, a seaport city at the west coast. Turns out, I’m just that fortunate to be able to visit a couple of states in US on my first visit there, while their very own residents didn’t always have the chance to visit other states.
